Although long canceled, this military performance reference provides basic information on government acquisition logistics management. This specification describes information required by the government to perform acquisition logistics management functions. The principle focus of this specification is on providing the DOD with a contractual method for acquiring support and support-related engineering and logistics data from contractors. The DOD used this data in-house for existing DOD materiel management processes such as initial provisioning, cataloging, and item management.

This reference provides useful historical information on the evolution of DoD’s development processes for creating logistics management information.
