Product Support is a key component of weapon system development, implementation, and management. Success depends on balancing the competing priorities of capability, flexibility, and affordability. Since its inception, the Product Support managers (PSM) guidebook has been instrumental in assisting the PSM with delivering the needed product support solutions. The guidebook has evolved to reflect changes in Product support since its original release. This current revision incorporates changes associated with the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) and complements DoDI 5000.91, “Product Support Management for the Adaptive Acquisition Framework.” Readiness, affordability, cost consciousness, and innovation permeate all areas of acquisition and sustainment.
