This standard provides the minimum requirements for uniform military marking for shipment and storage. Additional marking may be required by the contract or the cognizant activity. Shipment planning for supplies, equipment, and ammunition will be as specified in this standard. A marking is the numbers, letters, bar codes, labels, tags, symbols, or colors applied to provide identification and to expedite handling during shipment and storage. While every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they may not meet all specified requirements.
